Latitude / Longitude to Block Conversion Tool

This tool will allow you to find out the block in which an observation is located, if you know the latitude and longitude (for example, from a GPS reading). Input the North Latitude and West Longitude of your observation in the form below, and then click the Submit button. Coordinates may be input as decimal degrees (for example, 44.59047), degrees and decimal minutes (for example, 44 48.277), or degrees minutes and decimal seconds (for example 44 48 16.62).
You can also put the Coordinates into the Latitude box in the form (N46 11.307 W93 47.053). This will be translated to decimal degrees and can be seen directly on the map.
UTM coordinates (15T 481455 4961364) can be placed in the Latitude box. These will be translated to decimal degrees and can be seen on the map.

Block Conversion Tool

Enter the block number to bring up a map for that block.

Block Identifier

Generate .gpx will generate a GPS track file block.gpx. This file can be read by Garmin mapsource. This will generate a track around the perimeter of the block that can be downloded to your GPS unit.

Township Conversion Tool

Enter the township name to determine the block. If the township occurs in several counties, all the counties are listed. Click on the block to see the block on the Minnesota map.

Enter the county name and click on Generate .gpx. This will generate a county.gpx track file that can be loaded into your Garmin GPS unit with MapSource.

Enter the Feature type and name, then click on Generate .gpx. This will generate aa feature.gpx track file that can be loaded into your Garmin GPS unit with MapSource.
